Aston Villa are the last remaining British side in Europe after they completed a stunning comeback to reach the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.
Trailing 2-1 from the first leg in France, Villa fell behind again at Villa Park when Jonathan David gave Lille the lead on the night.
But goals from Yusuf Yazici and Benjamin Andre sealed a 2-1 win on the night and a 3-2 aggregate victory for Villa.
Diaby, who was named Villa's Player of the Month for March, said: "It's a great feeling to reach the semi-finals of a European competition."
"We knew it was going to be a difficult game, but we showed great character to come back from behind and win."
"We'll need to be even stronger in the second leg in France, but we're confident that we can get the job done."
Villa will now face either Fenerbahce or Olympiakos in the semi-finals, with the first leg taking place on April 27.
