WEB Jason Ānanda Josephson Storm is an American academic philosopher, social scientist, and author. He is currently Professor of Religion, Chair of Science Technology Studies, and Director of the Anthropology of Science and Religion Research Initiative at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Storm's research focuses on the intersection of religion, law, and popular culture in Edo-Meiji Japan (1600-1912). He is the author of several books on these topics, including "The Invention of Religion in Japan" (2010) and "The Culture of Science in Japan" (2017).
Storm has also written extensively on the history and philosophy of the human sciences. He is the editor of the journal "History and Philosophy of the Life Sciences" and the author of several books on the topic, including "The History and Philosophy of Evolutionary Biology" (2018) and "The Philosophy of Psychology" (2021).
