BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU star forward Angel Reese has announced that she is leaving school for the WNBA. Reese made the announcement on social media Tuesday, thanking LSU and her coaches, teammates and fans for her time in Baton Rouge.

Reese, a 6-foot-3 forward from Baltimore, was one of the most dominant players in college basketball over the past two seasons. She averaged 23.4 points and 15.7 rebounds per game this season, leading LSU to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.

Reese was named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press and was a finalist for the Naismith Trophy, given to the nation's top player. She is expected to be a top pick in the upcoming WNBA draft.

"I want to thank LSU for everything," Reese said in her statement. "I have grown so much as a player and a person here. I will always cherish my time in Baton Rouge."
